Evros opens Network operations Centre
Evros The Computer Centre has opened a state of the art Network Operations Centre (NOC) in Waterford in January 2007, with the creation of 10 new jobs planned for the region (In addition to the 50 employees nationwide). This NOC will provide remote technical diagnostics for our customers in Ireland, the UK and Belgium.
The Move from The Mall in Waterford to The Cleaboy Business Park has seen Evros almost double its floor space to accommodate new staff, the network operations center and enhanced project preparation facilities in advance of taking on the HP Advanced Service Delivery partner Management in April 2007.
Remote support has become a key requirement for many SMB’s in Ireland as they face the daily challenges of cost controls in parallel with providing increases in productivity. Each customer is issued with a direct dial helpdesk number where they can call directly and speak to one of our engineers who will work through any issue that they may have. Through this facility we also monitor our customers IT infrastructure 24*7*365. Our engineers are strategically located throughout the country to ensure that if required they can be on site in the fastest allowable time frame.

Evros, HP Preferred Partner
Evros The Computer Centre are proud to have become one of a small number of HP ‘Preferred Partners’ in 2007. HP have changed their entry requirement which has resulted in a small number of Preferred Partners in Ireland. This move by HP has significantly increased the technical entry requirements to the program and as such has allowed businesses easily identify partners who have invested in HP technology training and have the complete confidence and ability to deliver an end to end HP business solution. Glenhaven Foods Taste Success with Managed Services from Evros
Evros have been awarded a contract to manage & support all of Glenhaven Foods IT infrastructure. Founded in 1986, Glenhaven Foods are one of Ireland's largest producers of value added poultry products supplying the Irish, UK and mainland Europe retail and food service markets.
In 1994, they moved to purpose built 35,000 sq.ft. plant in Arklow, Co. Wicklow where all commercial and technical functions, marketing, sales, purchasing, product and process development, technical and engineering for the company are based. Consisting of reactive and proactive services along with constant system monitoring, the contract will help ensure Glenhaven Foods systems run at their optimum level, allowing staff to concentrate on core business functions, and that disruption and downtime are kept to a minimum through proactive management of the system.

Our new year got of to a great start when Kevin Butler, a member of our Dublin sales team, was presented with an award by Lenovo for the work he carried out with them in 2006. Fiona O Brien, Irish Channel Manager for Lenovo presented the award to Kevin at the Lenovo Channel Awards night held recently in The Burlington Hotel, Dublin. "Once again, I wanted to congratulate you on your award as the Lenovo Business Partner Sales Rep of the Year for 2006. On behalf of all the team, I would like to thank you for the tenacity, enthusiasm and hard work you demonstrated last year. You teamed well with the Lenovo reps to uncover new business opportunities in a number of accounts, including the extremely competitive education sector. Evros donates Christmas Card fund to Charity
December 2006. Barbara Kilcullen from our Dublin office presents Vincent Richardson from Concern Ireland with a cheque outside of their Dublin offices. Rather than spend money on customer Christmas cards Evros donates the money instead to a chosen charity each year. This year we split the fund between Oxfam and Concern's Christmas Gifts of Hope appeal.

Evros and DCU – Laptops To Students Scheme
Our laptops’ to the student scheme in DCU has proved to be a major success since its launch in September 2006. In conjunction with Lenovo and the DCU computer services team we have been able to provide a unique DCU offering to any student joining or returning to DCU this school term. Following months of testing and evaluating the DCU computer services team decided to make the Lenovo Thinkpad available to the campus as its laptop of choice. As well as receiving their laptops students will also receive a DCU laptop backpack and free memory key. To facilitate this campus wide rollout Evros designed and implemented a customised on line ordering tool for the students to use when ordering their DCU Thinkpad.
The Lenovo Thinkpad provides the students with the latest in IT technology including unique security and mobility features which are sure to help them in their educational studies. Pictured above are the first DCU students to receive their Thinkpads from Kevin Butler, our DCU Account Manager.

February 2006 – UCC and Evros Begin Lenovo Partnership
In February 2006 Evros and UCC signed contracts to begin their new 3 year PC and Laptop supply contract. Evros and the chosen manufacturer Lenovo were delighted to be chosen as a preferred partner for UCC after a very competitive public tender process. To formerly launch the relationship Evros hosted an open day with Lenovo and extended an invite to all UCC staff to attend. Present on the day were the key account management teams for UCC from Evros and Lenovo, also featured on the day were the products that UCC has chosen as part of their approved PC and Laptop product sets.
